MEDJAY BAND

Medjay is a Power Metal band with Arabic musical influences, inspired by their rich mythology and culture.

The name Medjay was taken from the History of Ancient Egypt. They were a warrior people who inhabited the region of South Sudan and who over time became the royal guard of the pharaohs. Medjay in a literal translation means Warrior of the Lord (Pharaoh). For us Medjay is also understood as a spirit of courage and struggle that is present in all human history, that is why in every place there is a warrior people, there the Medjay are present.

To celebrate International Rock Day, we released a new video clip of the song SANDSTORM with live footage from our last gig on Feb 8th at Mister Rock.

We're a power metal band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil inspired by Egyptian culture and mythology. Founded in 2019, our debut album SANDSTORM has been recorded last December is yet to be released do to Covid-19 pandemic.

The album has been produced by Ninrod with Rafael Bittencourt's mentorship (Angra), mixed and mastered at Mister Som by Pompeu and Heros Trench (Korzus).

This album features very special guests such as May Undead (Torture Squad) and Marília Zangrandi (Soprano/Geoff Tate) and a track composed with Rafael Bittencourt called "Rise for Glory".
