Son to a musician, music was put into my cradle in my very first days. Literally. With a trombone. Maybe that's why I preferred heavy rock music, differently to my father Berndt "Jazzer" Schumacher who played in well known bands like "Karussell". Sandow, Tool and Alice in Chains, are amongst the bands that shaped my musical development, just to name a few. My first waypoint was the grungerock band "Lost Innocence". As frontman of the band, I wrote songs, played guitar and sang vocals for about 10 years. Several live gigs and studio sessions accumulated during those years.
But eventually, this wasn't enough anymore. I was always fascinated by bands that included other styles into metal, like Rage, Therion or Haggard. And so it surely was fate, when I met the ambitious Janika at the last days of 2009. She was full of enthusiasm about her vision of combining classical music with heavy metal. She infected me with her vision and bit by bit both worlds start to merge to something new: It became molllust. And the fascination is still burning, probably even stronger today.
Alongside molllust I also played the guitar in some of the acoustic shows of the Leipzig-based band unloved. In summer of 2014 I played the first time the bass guitar for Haggard and played the bass at Haggard live shows since then many a time. Starting 2015 I also sing the tenor part for Haggard.
You'd think, as a person grows older it would become more demure and quiet, but with me obviously the opposite is the case. And that's good for sure!
