CLOVEN HOOF TRACKS THROUGH THE YEARS!

Cloven Hoof was originally formed in the heart of the West Midlands, England, in 1979. The group went through various line up changes until spring 1982 when the established line up consisted of Lee Payne (bass guitar), David Potter (vocals), Steve Rounds (lead guitar) and Kevin Poutney (drums). The first demo tape was given appraisal from no lesser stars than Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), who took a copy of the tape into national BBC Radio One, and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) similarly had the demo played on a radio station based in Phoenix, Arizona. The station was bombarded with callers who wanted to know more about the band. Soon afterwards the group were taken under the wing of ex Judas Priest manager, David Hemmings.

“The Opening Ritual”, a four track mini album, was released in 1982, and the EP stayed in the Sounds and Kerrang! heavy metal charts for six weeks peaking at #18. Cloven Hoof were also placed at the top of Geoff Barton’s (founder of Kerrang! Magazine) “Breaking Through In ‘82 Feature,” and associated play list. The Opening ritual attained air play on numerous radio stations worldwide, but it was not until Tommy Vance and Geoff Barton played tracks from The Opening Ritual on BBC Radio One that Cloven Hoof’s career really began to break into a gallop. 1983 saw Cloven Hoof touring throughout the length and breadth of the United kingdom, earning themselves a sizable underground cult following. In the summer of that year the band recorded a four-track session for Tommy Vance’s Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio One and a similar session was undertaken at Beacon Radio for DJ Mike Davies.

On the strength of the bands popularity, Neat Records signed the outfit to record the album “Cloven Hoof.” The opus notched up sales figures of 24,000 units in 1884 alone, and it became apparent that the bands gigging activities would have to stretch further a field due to success of sales overseas. A European tour shortly followed featuring Shockwave Festival, Genk, Belgium. A Metal Hammer Magazine compilation album featured the track “Crack the Whip” from the debut album and a similar magazine compilation album, entitled Metal Inferno, contained “The Gates of Gehenna” and “Laying Down the Law” from Cloven Hoof (album).

The second full-length release, “Fighting Back” was a live album featuring an array of new songs. Unfortunately after this record, contractual and internal problems forced the band to split apart, leaving only founder member, Lee Payne, to rebuild the band from the ashes.

A new line up was established in 1988, comprising of Lee Payne, Russ North (vocals), Andrew Wood (guitar) and Jon Brown (drums). The band signed a recording deal with FM Revolver and a publishing deal with Trinifold, who were associated with acts such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), The Who and Judas Priest. “Dominator,” a Sci-Fi concept album was released in 1988, produced by Guy Bidmead who had previously worked with Motorhead, Cozy Powel and Whitesnake. Cloven Hoof’s fourth full-length release, “A Sultans Ransom,” shortly followed and was considered one of the best British heavy metal releases of the year by Metal Hammer Magazine. Chris Welch, editor of Metal Hammer gave the album an illustrious 4 star review and labeled it “a flagon of mystical metal.” The same year, a further four track session was recorded for the Tommy Vance show including “Astral Rider” and “Fox On The Run.” Despite the extended success across this period, in 1990, the band agreed to shelve it’s activities due to contractual reasons for a second time. Cloven Hoof was sadly, for all intense and purposes, in a process of suspended animation... But they would rise again.

To aid the resurrection of Cloven Hoof, the band enlisted producer Tom Galley, known for his work with Brian May (Queen), Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy), Glen Hughes (Deep Purple) resulting in the release of Cloven Hoof’s fifth full-length release, “Eye Of The Sun” in 2006 with future releases coming in 2008, “The Definitive Part One,” 2010 “Throne Of Damnation (EP)” and 2014, “Resist Or Serve”. The band played festivals across Europe including ‘Sweden Rock Festival’ in the summer of 2014. The played on the same bill as Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper. The end of this period saw the introduction of Luke Hatton on lead guitar and Chris Coss on rhythm guitar. 2015 saw the band reach across the Atlantic Ocean to enlist current members George Call (vocals) and Danny White (drums), who were acquainted with the band through crossed paths at European festivals. Work on the release, “Who Mourns for the Morning Star,” imminently followed and the album was released in 2017. The band played festivals in Belgium, Germany, France and Spain in that same year.

The Anglo-American line-up rekindled the ‘buzz’ that occurred in the US some decades before when The Opening Ritual hit the radio airwaves and with that, came the offer of an two headline extensive US tours and a record deal with Pure Steel Records. A historic headlining appearance at the famous Whiskey a Go Go club in California, and a blistering set at the Frost and Fire festival confirmed the band as a major force in heavy metal.

Now the band have released their finest album to date “Age of Steel” that has gained worldwide critical acclaim. In the summer they will release a live DVD recorded on 24 high definition cameras. It was recorded at the prestigious “Bang your head” festival in Germany with bands such as Accept and Europe amongst others. It features the band playing at their very best and a live album is being planned also.

Exciting times ahead for Cloven Hoof fans everywhere. With a history of 41 years the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends continue to get even better!

Cloven Hoof Age Of Steel Pure Steel – Imp. How many excellents bands could be in a world´s heavy metal “Dream Team” and, unfortunately, aren´t? Each one of us can talk at least four of them. Forged in Wolverhampton, England, in 1979, Cloven Hoof is one example. Directly connected with the NWOBHM, side by side with Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, Saxon among others, the band has lived two eras. The first until 1990, when burocractic problems forced one interruption their career. In 2000, bass player Lee Payne, the only original member until now, restarted the saga. A lot of formation changes and a series of records brought Cloven Hoof at Age Of Steel, new and heavy work. With Chris Coss and Ash Baker (guitars), Mark Harris (drums) and George Call (voice), Payne has created one of the best, or THE BEST, record since the debut, released in 1984. The traditional heavy metal is more fast and heavy as you can hear during Bathory, Gods Of War or in Ascension. Highliths also for Alderley Edge, that seems to be a great tribute to Maiden´s Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son. Is like a Hoof´s version for Steve Harris´ composition. PATRICK RONDAT – Guitar (Jean Michel Jarre/Consortium Project/Elegy)

French born guitarist Patrick Rondat has over 35 album releases to his credit, so it is no wonder Ian invited back in 1998 to work together on the debut Consortium Project I “Criminals & Kings” album and then again in Elegy. Now Patrick lends his incredible talent and skill as one of Rock’s alltime best guitarist recording a number of masterful rhythm & solo performances on “In Flagrante Delicto”. Patrick’s turning point came in 1991 with the release of "Rape of the Earth" (vogue / music for nation. His first two albums where distributed internationally and he participates in the famous live show Radio 1-BBC London) in which Patrick’s individual guitar technique has remained clear in his compositions and live performances to this day. His real break came after a surprise meeting with Jean-Michel Jarre in 1991 after performing at a MONSTERS OF ROCK festival (AC/DC, Metallica, Queensryche, etc.) His collaboration began with Jean-Michel recording the album "chronology" and led him to participate in an impressive series of concerts in Paris, around the world including those of Wembley Stadium in 1993 and the March field in 1995 will remain in his memory.

This lead to the recording of "Amphibia" (FDM 1996) produced by Jean-Michel, he is accompanied by Tommy Aldridge and Patrice Guers (Consortium Project/ Rhapsody). Continuing the musical change present in "Rape of the Earth" where compositions of progressive influences are affirmed. An adaptation of Vivaldi's presto will be a milestone (Vivaldi tribute).

This opened other musical horizons and Patrick has continued to work with many other artists worldwide such as; Tony Mac Alpine, Simon Philipps, Steve Lukather, Stu Hamm. (Cannes music passion) and Gary Moore (BBM) which he ensures the first part at the Zenith of Paris without forgetting the invitation of Joe Satriani to participate in the 1998 G3 tour with Michael Shenker, for 14 unforgettable concerts. STEPHAN LILL – Guitar (Vanden Plas/Consortium Project)

German born guitarist Stephan Lill is no newcomer to the world of rock and metal music. Playing guitar from an early age discovering his passion after hearing AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young & their incredible sound. At only 15, Stephan joined his present band Vanden Plas whom have released 11 incredible albums worldwide to date including numerous live shows and tours in Europe and the USA supporting many known bands such as Dream Theater, Savatage, and Angra. Guitarist songwriter Stephan has collaborated on numerous project such as Missa Mercuria and has co-writer and recorded with Ian on 3 Consortium Project albums & Ian’s 4th solo album “Visions” Stephan was a natural choice for Ian due to Stephan’s animatic trademark guitar style, which can be heard on Consortium Project I together with Patrick Rondat, but also in his own band Vanden Plas & both on Ian’s 2006 solo album“Visions” & Consortium Project I, III & V. With influences from some of Rock’s best classic rock and metal bands such as; Blue Murder, In Flames, Metallica, Dream Theatre, Slipknot, Ill Niño , Dokken, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, House of Lords, and of course, AC/DC, these style’s resonate throughout Stephan’s talented guitar performances on the new 5th solo album “In Flagrante Delicto”.

FACTZ: Stephan & Vanden Plas bandmates have composed 4 rock operas (Ludus Danielis, Christ 0, Everyman, Chronicles of the Immortals), which were performed at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz/Munich, Theater Münster, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Theater Pforzheim and the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck.

FACTZ: Guitarist, Stephan has played throughout Germany in musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors, Chess, Evita, and Rocky Horror Picture Show, to name a few.

FACTZ: In 2010, Stephan performed together with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra in the German premiere of Yaron Gottfried's Concerto for Electric Guitar, String Orchestra and Percussion.

FACTZ: The American-based company TTM Guitars was so impressed with Stephan's playing that it has been building signature guitars for Stephan since 2011.

JEROEN VAN DER WIEL – Keyboards (Rock Emporium/Odyssice/Thirteen)

Dutch born keyboard player Jeroen van der Wiel recorded his debut album in 1996 with Dutch prog-rock band Odyssice.

Released in 1997 entitled “Moon Drive”, Odyssice successfully performed numerous live shows in the Netherlands and Germany. Jeroen & Odyssice produced three more successive albums: Impression (2000), Silence (2010) and Secret Showcase CD/DVD (2013).

During the same period in 1996 Jeroen also started working with ex-Mothers Finest guitarist John Hayes after having designed a number of album covers for John’s solo-projects, including some music editing. Jeroen later joined John on-stage as his keyboard-player and band member in the John Hayes Project.

Having established himself as a quality keyboard player, Jeroen’s talents quickly became in demand also for his amazing album cover graphic work. In 2009 Jeroen started his own full-time graphic design company Lime Media. This gave him the opportunity to perform numerous freelance music projects, which is how his talents were spotted by Rock Emporium Singer/Producer Ian Parry. British singer Ian worked with Jeroen designing the sleeve layouts for Consortium Project V Species in 2011.

Now in 2016 Jeroen and Ian join forces in a new collaboration for the debut Rock Emporium “Society of Friends” c.d. performing keyboards as a band member, but also assisting Ian to design the album cover.

FACTZ: In 1999 Joeroen performed live on stage with the John Hayes Project as opening act for KISS in Festfallhalle in Dortmund Germany.

FACTZ: Jeroen’s keyboard playing can be heard on 7 albums, including Ian’s Rock Emporium ‘Society Of Friends’ debut album.

FACTZ: In 2012 Jeroen started his own project called Thirteen, together with singer Audrey Lahaije. In 2014 they released their debut album ‘A Shot In The Dark’.

CASEY GRILLO – Drums (Kamelot/Rock Emporium/Queensrÿke/ Consortium Project / Ian Parry solo “Visions”

US Tampa born rock metal drummer Casey Grillo is regarded as one of the world’s best drummers in the world of rock and metal. Casey is redited with a catalogue of studio albums from Kamelot, appearing on Ian’s previous solo album “Visions”& Consortium Project 3 & 5 and more recently joined forces with US Prog Metal giants Queensrÿke in 2019 as special guest.

Casey has performed an incredible amount of tours with his band Kamelot in Europe, Japan and North America and over 40 countries and continued to touring more recently with Queensrÿke across the USA & North America. Ian’s collaboration with Casey started back in 1998 after a coheadlining tour with Elegy and Kamelot, so naturally Ian once again invited Casey to perform drums on a number of tracks from the new “In Flagrante Delicto” album.

FACTZ: Casey and Ian worked with Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood recording an Iron Maiden tribute together in Tampa Florida back in 2000.

FACTZ: Casey previously performed drums for Ian’s 4th solo album “Visions” in 2005 & Consortium Project 3 in 2002.

FACTZ: Casey toured together with Ian & Elegy as drummer for Kamelot for a co-heading tour for Noise Records back in 1998 & have continued to work together & appears on “In flagrante Delicto”.

FACTZ: With more than 6 worldwide tours and numerous studio albums with US prog metal band Kamelot, Casey is now presently touring live with US Metal Giants Queensrÿke.

IMRE DAUN – Drums (Rock Emporium/ Gypsy Rose/ Dawn Patrol/ Brian Robertson’s The Clan)

Swedish rock metal drummer, Imre previously worked for the first time with Ian on the debut Rock Emporium “Society of Friends” album & has developed a very high standard of professionalism in his playing, attitude towards fellow musicians, the business and the companies that now endorse him. With a pure rock groove flexible style Imre fits Rock Emporium’s classic vintage rock atmosphere perfectly. In addition Imre has a full range of styles from Heavy Rock/Metal, which can be heard in his former band Dawn Patrol, plus contemporary/chart pop to Fusion & the added advantage of strong backing vocals and Hard hitting drum style, which is why when hearing tracks from producer Martin Kronlund, Ian asked Imra to perform drums on this amazing 5th solo album instalment.

Barend 'The Bear' Courbois appears again with Ian after working both on Consortium Project & Rock Emporium, this time as special guest. Barend after performing a worldwide tour with German metal giants Blind Guardian playing sold out shows across Europe, Russia, Brazil and South America, contributes his talent and masterful technique on the 2nd of 2 ballads on “In Flagrante Delicto”. With a self-developed unique bass technique Barend has performed with many artists such as; Thijs van Leer (Focus), Gary Barden (MSG), Zakk Wylde (Ozzy), Michael Lee Firkins, Andy James, Michael Voss (Mad Max), Andreas Kisser (Selpultura), Mike Terrana (Malmsteen, MacAlpine), John West (Lynchmob, Badlands), Steve Fister (Lita Ford, Pat Travers), Atna Amur (Journey, David Bowie), John Hayes (Mother's Finest), Walter Trout, Tony Spinner (Toto), Adrian Vandenberg (Whitesnake) & Vengeance. No dia 26 de Março de 1960 nasce em São Paulo capital, Brasil, Marco Antonio Ricciardelli filho de Luzia Gil e Carmo Ricciardelli. Desde pequeno sempre foi muito alegre e desinibido, ainda na fase escolar descobriu o dom nato de desenhista e aos 14 anos ele já estava pintando quadros á óleo na Praça da República. Já expôs seus quadros em vários lugares e até hoje ele continua pintando como hobby em horas de folga.

Aos 17 anos descobriu seu talento para comediante, se apresentando em casas de shows, onde teve seu talento reconhecido pelo seu tio Raul Gil que é apresentador de TV. Foi aí que surgiu o Marquito. Começou fazendo o robô no quadro “O que é o que é” e o pizzaiolo na “Boca do forno” no programa do Raul Gil.

Daí em diante não parou mais e trabalhou com outros apresentadores como: Barros de Alencar; Bolinha (em memória); Mara maravilha; Chacrinha (em memória); Na TV Bandeirantes, e no Programa do Ratinho no SBT.

Foi Vereador da Cidade de São Paulo-SP no período de 01/01/2013 a 31/12/2016.

Atualmente está no Programa do Ratinho e continua fazendo shows por todo país com seus personagens engraçados.

One of Germany's leading rock voices, Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz.

Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz is certainly no stranger to the international Rock & Metal scene and he can look back on a more than 20 years lasting and successful career. As lead singer and formative element of well known acts like DOMAIN, EVIDENCE ONE, CODE OF PERFECTION and MIDNITE CLUB in the first decade of the 2000s, he has influenced the German hard rock scene like only a few other artists. His lead singing skills can be also enjoyed on more recent albums by DEAD END HEROES, LAVALLE, RIK PRIEM'S PRIME, FROZEN RAIN and many others and as a guest singer he can be heard on countless other releases. But Carsten is also a highly sought-after songwriter. You can listen the works out of his pen on albums by RUSSELL ALLEN / MAT SINNER, VENGEANCE, GARY JOHN BARDEN etc. A real musical workaholic since years!

A real labor of love is the realization of his first solo album "The Day The Earth Stopped Turning". A process that took many years to complete - on the one hand for reasons of time, to the other hand to present the best possible and identifiable result. As a die-hard fan of the good old 70s, Carsten's clear intention was to create an adult and classical hard rock album with the special old-school flair. Under the decisive participation of his congenial partner Steffen Seeger and with the help and support by dozens of well-known artists from the last four decades (such as Axel Rudi Pell, Mat Sinner, Neil Murray, Erik Norlander and lots of others), a classic rock album has emerged that seeks of his peers in the current world of music and which is much more than a tribute to the good old days. A man, his friends and their mission give us an over 80 minutes lasting listening pleasure which brings us back to the past and to greats like LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW, WHITESNAKE, URIAH HEEP, NAZARETH, KANSAS, MANFRED MANN... JÚNIOR - Lendário

Jenílson Ângelo de Souza, ou simplesmente JÚNIOR, nasceu em 20/06/1973, na cidade de Santo Antônio de Jesus, Estado da Bahia, Brasil.

JÚNIOR foi revelado em 1994 pelo VITÓRIA (Bahia-BR), sendo vice-campeão do Campeonato Baiano de 1994.

Em 1996, JÚNIOR chegou ao PALMEIRAS (São Paulo-BR) da era Parmalat, onde foi campeão da Copa do Brasil e da Copa Mercosul, em 1998, e da Libertadores, em 1999 – quando virou ídolo da torcida alviverde.

Em 2000, JÚNIOR se transferiu para o PARMA (Itália), sendo vice-campeão do Campeonato Italiano de 2000-2001 e também se destacou no título da Copa Itália de 2001-2002. Após duas temporadas no Parma, foi contratado pelo SIENA (Itália) por empréstimo.

SELEÇÃO BRASILEIRA

Em 2002, JÚNIOR foi convocado para a SELEÇÃO BRASILEIRA, pelo técnico Luiz Felipe Scolari, o FELIPÃO, para disputar a Copa do Mundo do Japão e da Coreia.

JÚNIOR foi muito importante no jogo contra a Costa Rica, na terceira rodada da fase de grupos, quando deu duas assistências e marcou um dos gols na vitória por 5 a 2.

JÚNIOR se sagrou PENTACAMPEÃO MUNDIAL PELO BRASIL, na Copa do Mundo de 2002. Ao longo da carreira pela Seleção Brasileira, JÚNIOR disputou 22 partidas.

Em 2005, JÚNIOR chegou ao SÃO PAULO (São Paulo-BR). Com a camisa do Tricolor, faturou uma Libertadores em 2005, um Mundial de Clubes em 2005), e três Campeonatos Brasileirões seguidos nos anos de 2006, 2007 e 2008.

Depois de uma passagem curta pelo ATLÉTICO (Minas Gerais-BR) em 2009, encerrou a carreira no Goiás (Goiás-BR) em 2010.

Em 2019, Aos 45 anos, o lateral-esquerdo JÚNIOR, deixou a aposentadoria para disputar o campeonato Candangão pelo FORMOSA (Goiás-BR), de acordo com a diretoria do clube, à época, JÚNIOR só retornou aos gramados, pela possibilidade de enfrentar o zagueiro Lúcio, que jogava pelo BRASILIENSE (Brasília-BR), e foi companheiro de Seleção Brasileira em 2002.
